The Mongolian Wrestling Palace, known locally as Bökh Palace, is one of Ulaanbaatar’s most iconic cultural and sporting landmarks. Officially opened in 1998, the palace was built to honor Mongolia’s national sport — wrestling (bökh) — a tradition that dates back more than 2,000 years and remains a central part of the country’s identity and celebrations, especially during the Naadam Festival.
Designed in a unique blend of modern and traditional Mongolian architecture, the arena can host thousands of spectators and serves as the main stage for national and international wrestling tournaments. Inside, visitors can often find training sessions, exhibitions, and special competitions featuring some of Mongolia’s most skilled and respected wrestlers.
Beyond wrestling, Bökh Palace regularly hosts concerts, cultural events, and public ceremonies, reflecting its role as a hub for both athletic excellence and community life in the capital.
