Sükhbaatar Square, also known as Chinggis Square, is the central plaza of Ulaanbaatar and the symbolic heart of Mongolia. Surrounded by government buildings, museums, and cultural landmarks, the square is named after Damdin Sükhbaatar, the revolutionary hero who led Mongolia’s independence movement in 1921.

At its center stands a bronze statue of Sükhbaatar on horseback, while the grand Government Palace at the north end features the seated statues of Chinggis Khaan and his generals — a striking reminder of Mongolia’s rich history and national pride.

Today, the square serves as a gathering place for celebrations, concerts, and national events, where modern life meets centuries of tradition in one open, vibrant space.
