Statue Description & Symbolism
The monument features a bronze Saker Falcon perched atop a high pedestal, with its wings spread in a powerful, symmetrical display.

The Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug): Known in Mongolian as Idleg Shonkhor, it has been a symbol of courage, military prowess, and spiritual power since the era of the Xiongnu and the Mongol Empire.
-
The Design: The falcon is depicted in a traditional heraldic style, similar to the "Soyombo" or historical standards. Its broad wings and sharp gaze represent the watchful protection over the province of Khentii.
-
Historical Link: Genghis Khan and the Mongol nobility famously used falcons for hunting (falconry), and the bird often appeared on the banners (sulde) of medieval Mongol tribes as a symbol of heaven’s favor.
